Little owl survey February-March 2026
Between 15th February and 31st March, CAWOS members will be visiting sites in the Cheshire and Wirral area to locate Little owls. If you are interested in contributing to the survey, please contact Roy Leigh by email. The survey will use playback calls to attract the owls, and an appropriate mp3 file is provided.
Ideally, you will input your survey results through the website Project pages. You will need a CAWOS survey account, which can be created using the 'Project login' page that can be accessed from the Main menu 'Projects' tab, or via the button on the right. All that's required is a user name, email address and a password. The account is only used for survey results. It is not linked to CAWOS membership details that are held separately by the Membership Secretary. Your email address will only be used to contact you about the survey results. Please also email your completed survey forms to Roy Leigh.
Below are links to files that explain the survey, the survey codes and the Little owl mp3 file. It is important that you submit all survey results, whether or not any Little owls are detected. Nil returns are an important aspect of the survey
