Grants and Bursaries

 

The Society is able to provide small grants and bursaries, when funds allow, to support ornithological projects and initiatives. In the first instance, please write to the Secretary of the Society at the address given below outlining your request.

 

BURSARY 2015

 

A new initiative by CAWOS is to help support young ornithologists and bird enthusiasts in Cheshire.

 

We have resolved to offer bursaries to help achieve something beneficial for wild birds in Cheshire and Wirral through supporting any individual who fits the following description and criteria:

 

Has, or aspires to have, a project on a relevant species or subject which might be of conservation value or to better our knowledge, or

Has an aspiration to work with birds, or

Has a training requirement that has a meaningful purpose and an outcome beneficial for birds.

Age limit: up to and including 25.

 

The successful applicants must provide a summary of their project or training outcome for inclusion in a future CAWOS publication. Membership of CAWOS is not a precondition for application. Examples might be:

By way of an indication, the bursary level anticipated by CAWOS Council is £250.

 

Anyone who may be interested is invited to apply in writing to the Secretary of the Society outlining their intended research/ project/ training, giving sufficient background information and contact details.
